Kamen Chanev graduated State Musical Academy "Pancho Vladigerov" in 1991 in the town of Sofia.
In 1992 he made a specialty at Maestro Boris Hristov in Academy for Music in Rome. At that time he was mastering his vocal skills with distinguished opera prima Aleksandrina Milcheva and Gena Dimitrova as well as with the piano of Lucano Pavaroti: Leone Magera.
His debut as an opera singer was in 1993 in the part of Ducca di Mantova of the opera Rigoletto by Verdi on the stage of National Opera Theater in Sofia where he was appointed a solo singer in the same year singing the main tenor repertoire. In 1994 he is a laureate of competition Jussi Bjorling (Sweeden) in competition with 15 excellent tenors from all over the world.
Since 1997 he has been the solo opera singer at National Opera in Prague where he has sang the main tenor repertoire under the baton of numerous famous conductors.
He also has made numerous recordings at Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television.
He has toured in France, Chech Republic, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium.
